We're thrilled to announce a new addition to our team: PanKind's support navigator

In our ongoing dedication to supporting Australians affected by pancreatic cancer, we are thrilled to announce a pivotal addition to PanKind's team: the Support Navigator. This new resource aims to provide navigation assistance throughout the challenging journey of pancreatic cancer.

Meet Cristy Mock

Cristy Mock joined PanKind in November 2023, equipped with a wealth of experience and a compassionate heart. With qualifications in social work and counselling, Cristy brings a background in the not-for-profit sector, specialising in individual and family counselling and case management services.

As a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and Oncology Social Work Australia & New Zealand (OSWANZ), Cristy is dedicated to offering practical and emotional support to individuals, families, and carers affected by pancreatic cancer.

The Role of the Support Navigator

Cristy's role as a Support Navigator aims to assist and empower individuals along their illness journey. By helping to direct to vital resources and information, Cristy seeks to instill a sense of choice and control amidst the uncertainties of a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. While recognising that a diagnosis cannot be changed, Cristy desires to help individuals improve the experience of their illness by holding onto hope grounded in reality.

Navigating the Challenges

One of the greatest challenges faced by those affected by pancreatic cancer lies in the sheer complexity of the disease and its treatment. From grappling with medical decisions to managing financial strains and emotional distress, the journey can be overwhelming and confusing. In such times, the presence of a knowledgeable and compassionate guide like Cristy can make all the difference, offering a source of comfort, reassurance, and support.

For those in need of guidance or support, PanKind's Support Navigator is just a phone call away. Reach out to Cristy at (02) 7207 6970 or via email at support@pankind.org.au

Additionally, visit our Patient & Carer Hub for resources and information tailored to the unique needs of those affected by pancreatic cancer.
