Grants update – 2018 applications under consideration
Ten research applications are currently under consideration for the 2018 grants round, with submissions received from universities and institutes in NSW, SA and WA. The calibre of applications is extremely high with proposals spanning a range of research areas from gene therapies to treatment compounds.

Your support knocked our (purple) socks off!
This year over 6,000 feet took to fields, pitches, ovals and courts all over Australia proudly sporting our very own Purple Socks in support for Pancreatic Cancer fundraising and awareness. This amazing show of community support means our #GoingPurpleForPancreaticCancer campaign (or Purple Socks as we like to call it) tripled in size this year, generating over $30,000 directly into Pancreatic Cancer Medical Research.

2018 Grant Funding for Pancreatic Cancer Research
We are so excited to announce our 2018 Grant Funding round is now open for applications!! In this round we are making available $400k which adds to the already $5.8 million allocated through our grants program over the last three years.

A heart-warming end to a big year
The Avner Foundation made a lot of new friends this year, including many new people affected by Pancreatic Cancer and researchers who are working tirelessly to find a cure for the disease. It was particularly rewarding to end the year by bringing together one of our new-found supporters and friend, Dean Gorddard, with one of our new research collaborators.
