Volunteering at Pankind means becoming part of a passionate community working towards something profoundly important, transforming the future for people impacted by pancreatic cancer.
Why Volunteer?
Whether you’re helping out at events, lending your skills behind the scenes, or contributing to vital awareness campaigns, your time and energy fuel real progress. It’s a chance to stand with families facing one of the toughest diagnoses, to honour loved ones, and to help drive research, advocacy, and support initiatives that could save lives.
Every volunteer, in every role, helps us take another step toward a fairer fight.
Volunteering helps us honour Mum and drive change.
Our Mum passed away from pancreatic cancer just six weeks after her diagnosis. It was a devastating shock—and it showed us how urgently early detection is needed.
In 2015, we took part in our first Put Your Foot Down walk event to raise awareness and funds. Seeing so many others affected by pancreatic cancer was incredibly emotional, and from that moment, we knew we wanted to do more.
We’ve been volunteering ever since—mainly helping with the merchandise stall. It’s become a meaningful way for us to connect with others, share stories, and remember Mum. Every year, we’re struck by the mix of heartbreak and hope as families return to walk in honour of their loved ones.
Being part of this community brings us comfort, purpose, and the drive to help improve outcomes for everyone impacted by this disease.

How can you help?
- Our Put Your Foot Down walks bring communities together in a powerful show of support—and they simply wouldn’t happen without volunteers. From managing registrations and selling merchandise, to marshalling walkers, running the kids’ zone or cheering at the finish line, there’s a role for everyone to help make the day unforgettable.
- If you're a skilled professional—whether in tech, marketing, design, media, law, or another field—we’d love to hear from you. Your expertise can help drive real change and leave a lasting impact.
