Deep Spring Water raises essential funds by going purple

Tuesday, January 1, 2019

In 2010 Woolworths began stocking special purple bottles of Deep Spring water to help raise money for Pancreatic Cancer research. 10c from the sale of every bottle of Deep Spring Avner Sparkling (1.25l) and Still (600ml) water going directly to Avner’s Foundation. The rows of purple bottles on the shelves stood proud in support of our charity, helping to raise awareness of the disease and sending a message of support to anyone who has been touched by it in some way.

Coca-Cola Amatil is behind the creation of these special bottles and have demonstrated incredible support to the Foundation since they themselves lost a team member to Pancreatic Cancer. They partnered with Woolworths Group on this project, who facilitated the sales of the specially designed bottles. Both companies continue to play a key role in funding the important research grants that are pivotal in improving outcomes for those affected by the disease. Pancreatic Cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer and does not currently attract anywhere near the level of research funding given to other types of cancers. This makes the support of businesses like Coca-Cola Amatil and Woolworths Group crucial to our continuing mission to improve survival rates.

Coca-Cola Amatil and Woolworths have also supported the Foundation by co-hosting our annual ‘Best Things in Life’ dinner. One of the highlights of our relationship with these two companies was the announcement at the 2016 dinner, held at The Ivy in Sydney, that the funds raised through the purple Deep Spring Avner Water had smashed the $1 million mark – a major achievement! We are incredibly grateful for all their phenomenal work, ongoing support and to the Woolworths shoppers who have helped us to go above and beyond this $1 million milestone by choosing purple.
